It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to stand down from Chair of Magpies Trust and resign from the Board of Magpies Trust.
Over the last two years I have given my all to the role as Chair, plus the previous eight before that as membership secretary and vice-chair. I have tried to juggle my time effectively between home, work and Magpies Trust but unfortunately it’s no longer sustainable and something needed to give.
Stepping away from the role and the organisation is not a decision that has been easy to make, but ultimately it is the right one. I feel that over the last two years it has developed into a more professional, profit making enterprise which will benefit the Club, the supporters and the community as a whole.
I would like to place on record my thanks to the football club board, supporters of Chorley Football Club and the board members of Magpies Trust.
We now welcome any suitable application to declare their interest in joining the Magpies Trust board and running as Chair.
This is a voluntary role which represents an excellent opportunity for a passionate, financially astute and commercially driven supporter to become part of our exciting journey.
We are looking for someone who wants to use their professional skills of management in the context of improving the experience of the supporters we serve. The connection to how this role supports the Trust’s mission, aims and values is essential. By the fans, for the fans.
Should no suitable candidates step forward to fill this role, we will be required by to call an Extraordinary General Meeting in November to discuss the dilution of Magpies Trust's shares and assets.
If you believe you are that individual who can take the Trust forward then please contact the trust board on board@magpiestrust.org
