Chorley FC Supporters Trust has a long history of supporting local food banks. In normal times, we usually organise a food collection at least once per season. We’ve generally done this with Living Waters. One year we chose Chorley Help The Homeless, another Chorley food bank operator, as our good cause and supported them with our sponsored walk.
We haven’t been able to organise a collection for some time, but we still wanted to do something to help those in need. So after contacting Chorley Borough Council to find out where our donation could be put to best use, we have sent £2 per Trust member (a total of £290) to Inspire Chorley Youth Zone.

"Our food for families project has taken us completely by surprise. Originally we intended to provide a bit of a stop gap to support families while Free School Voucher provision came through for schools to pass on to families ( in the summer this took a number of weeks), so we only intended to provide free packed lunches for a couple of weeks. We are now 5 weeks in and have made and distributed well over 2,000 meals ( both packed lunches and healthy pre-cooked meals) to local families who are struggling with Food Poverty, just awful that there is so much need out there!
We are working closely with the council and with Living Waters Church (who have been great as always) but we are redirecting our own funding to this, so any donation, large or small is very welcome indeed…..
Please accept my sincere thanks on behalf of the many local families this funding will support. Grateful too if you could pass on my thanks to the rest of the Supporters Trust."
