Seven games in to the 2024/25 campaign and it’s been a positive start from Preecy and the lads as they sit in the table with only one defeat in those seven. Whilst it was two weeks ago and we’ve played three games since this is the first chance I’ve had to mention in a programme piece about our result against current league leaders Scunthorpe United. To come away from Glanford Park with a point and also being the first team to score against The Iron this campaign is something The Magpies can be proud about.
I am sure that you have already heard how both Southport and Chorley came together over the Bank Holiday weekend to raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital – A superb effort to everyone involved with just under half of the money raised coming from the half time draw contributions, so thank you for supporting that.
Our first social event of the season took place on Thursday night in the social club at Victory Park – Thank you to the Club personnel who gave their time to attend the evening and speak with supporters. If you are a member of Magpies Trust then you will receive a recap of the event over the next few days via your email – If you do not receive this then please get in touch.
If you haven’t already collected your membership card then you can do so from Trust HQ on match days. We would like to thank the club’s Media, Comms & Office Manager, Pete Tscherewik, for facilitating the printing of our membership cards which has been over 240 of them! Your membership card not only sits proudly in your collection but it can be used to access discounts in and around Victory Park with 10% off at the club shop and free room hire of the social club.
Following on from this afternoon’s fixture we find ourselves away from home next weekend as our FA Cup journey begins for this season. Our destination is somewhere we haven’t played a competitive fixture at since 2011 as we face Mossley. Do you want to go? We want as many Magpies there as possible therefore we’ve organised a coach with the details on our website.
Our next league game see’s us take a journey North East to face South Shields – You can be there to support Preecy and the lads by traveling on our family friendly OFFICIAL away travel.
