In a tense game where only a win would do to remain in the playoff hunt, Jack Sampson finished a pressure penalty in the ninetieth minute to see off Peterborough Sports in this equivalent fixture last season.
On Tuesday evening, the Magpies played out a 1-1 draw away at Scarborough Athletic in an entertaining fixture. Chorley had the best of the first half and deservedly took a 1-0 lead into halftime thanks to Carlton Ubaezuonu before the hosts grew into the game in the second half. Today’s visitors recorded an excellent 2-0 home win over Darlington to move them to fifteenth in the table and just a point off the Magpies in ninth.
