PROGRAMME PIECE | Warrington Town

Back to Blogs

We have only had two away games so far in this campaign with both of them just over an hour away in travel time and therefore probably more easily accessible for our supporters. There will be a number of long distance games for Chorley fans to attend and we want to help the best we can. Whilst we do not currently possess the volunteer power to provide such a service, we want to make sure that as many Chorley fans can watch away games as possible. Following in the footsteps of Bolton Wanderers Supporters Trust we would like to point you to Liftshare. We will be releasing a further statement about this on our website in the coming days.

Our Q&A session at the beginning of August saw newly appointed Club Chair, Jamie Vermiglio, take on questions from supporters. We were also joined by Club Secretary, Graham Watkinson and a member of the new management team, James. There were a lot of positives to take from the session and far more than what we can fit in this article. For the full in-depth transcript then please visit our website.

At the end of July we launched our 2023 Fan Survey in a bid to really connect with those who come through the turnstiles at Victory Park and to understand what it is they really want. We have received 100 responses so far from a variety of people giving us some real insight into the thoughts of our supporters. There are just under 2 weeks left to register your opinions and be in with a chance of winning a £30 club shop voucher. You can find the survey on our website.

We are still accepting members to join the Trust, for just £10 per year you will receive a small number of benefits as well as knowing you are supporting the official supporters organisation of Chorley FC.

There are plenty of other projects that you can get involved with that support the Trust and they are;

  • Golden Goals – As popular now as it was when it was first introduced onto the Victory Park terrace over 20 years ago. For just £1 per ticket you could bag yourself £30 when that first goal goes in.
  • Half Time Draw – Every 50/50 draw seller you see around the ground is a Magpies Trust volunteer. The more we sell, the bigger the prize.
  • Pledge Scheme – £1 per goal, £1 per clean sheet. It’s your pledge. We’re trying to build up funds inside the newly created “Magpies Fund”.
  • Super Fans – It goes without saying that all of our fans are amazing. But become a Super one and directly support the Community Foundation, be entered into prize draws and gain other benefits.

All income we receive through these projects goes back into the Trust and ultimately will help us achieve our goals of helping the Club and improving the supporter experience at Victory Park.

Again, thank you for your continued support and enjoy the game!

Julian
